Bedtime Lessons
Bedtime doesn't have to be bad time!
Bedtime can be a favorite time for little ones. Let God help you tuck the children in. God's word can help you get them ready for bed and bring spiritual healing to their souls. Nourish them through the night by telling them of Jesus's love before they drift off to dreamland.
Fill your child's imagination with Bible stories of God's power and love. Have you noticed that after tucking them in with a story how quiet and interested they beome? Children are like little sponges soaking up the time with you..eyes brightly shining, as they look up at you from their blankets and listen from the heart.
Call it a bedtime ministry .. its a Spiritual tool God can use each evening. The Wisdom and Love imparted by God through you will stick with them throughout their lives! Invest this little bit of time now.. it may save you tears and trials later by the score. Your children will never forget your love and attention and may make it a tradition with their own children some day.
Let these ideas listed below help you create more of your own. The next 7 questions are meant to intrigue your children's interest for the Bible stories to be read or told to them. Pick one out each night of the week to start with, then use your own imagination and Bible study to create more if they like it!
1. Did you know there was a man in the Bible whose pillow was made of stone? Ouch! But he slept well and had a wonderful dream. (His name is Jacob)

7. And lastly, as you close your eyes to sleep here is a bedtime song that King David wrote about God:
On my bed I remember you,
I think of You through the watches of the night. Because You are my help,
I sing in the shadow of Your wings
My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.
Psalms 63:6-8
After a story, sing a bedtime song together. They don't care what you sound like. They love your voice because its home, and its Mommy & Daddy. There is not a voice on earth as sweet to them as yours when you sing to them. End with a sweet dreams prayer for the family, and all is well.
